The Search for the UK’s Most Pukka Black Cabbie is on!
Do you know a ‘pukka’ black cab driver? Do they always go that extra mile for customers, help them in and out of the cab with luggage and find the quickest route at all times? Do they have good banter, adhere to the Highway Code and NEVER use their mobile while driving?
If yes, then this year they could be recognised for all their hard work and be crowned the ‘UK’s Most Pukka Black Cabbie’.
Car care expert, Turtle Wax, is hailing friends, relatives and colleagues of black cabbies, asking them to come forward and nominate an extra special driver who will make the UK beam with pride.
If the cabbie you know never fails to provide the highest levels of service and makes sure their passengers are safely at their destination before departing. If they never get lost and take absolute pride in the cab they drive, ensuring it is gleaming outside and spotless inside, then Turtle Wax wants to hear about it.
Entries for the competition will be judged by representatives from Turtle Wax and Don Pratt, the caring cabbie who was left a £250,000 tip in a customer’s will. The person chosen as the UK’s Most Pukka Black Cabbie will receive £2,000 worth of modifications to their cab, a short city break worth £500 and a year’s supply of Turtle Wax Black Box. Two runners up will also receive £250 worth of holiday vouchers, as well as a year’s supply of Black Box.
To nominate your cabbie and providing you are over the age of 18, all you need to do is:
- Give a short description of your nominee
- Explain in 100 words why your nominee deserves to be the UK’s Most Pukka Black Cabbie
- Provide the details of one reference eg if you are the nominee’s partner, then you could state your nominee’s colleague (this reference will then be contacted in order to verify the information provided in the entry form)
The closing date for entries is Monday 23rd August, 2010 and the winner will be notified on Monday 30th August, 2010. Terms and conditions apply.
